About KnowMyRights.ca
Free, AI-powered Canadian legal information for everyone.
What is KnowMyRights.ca?
KnowMyRights.ca is a centralized hub connecting 12 specialized Canadian legal information websites. Each website covers a distinct area of Canadian law, providing free guides, statute breakdowns, FAQs, real-world scenarios, and AI-powered assistance to help Canadians understand their rights.
Our Mission
Legal information in Canada is often scattered across government websites, legal databases, and law firm marketing pages. KnowMyRights.ca consolidates this information into plain-language, accessible resources organized by topic. The platform aims to bridge the gap between Canadians and the laws that protect them.
How Our Content Is Reviewed
Every guide and statute page on the platform is drafted from official sources — the Justice Laws website, provincial e-Laws, and tribunal publications — and carries a last-verified date. Content is reviewed by the founder before publication, and corrections are made when laws change. Learn more about how we distinguish legal information from legal advice.

Important Notice
KnowMyRights.ca provides general legal information to help Canadians understand laws and regulations that may apply to their situations. This platform does not provide legal advice, does not create a lawyer-client relationship, and does not guarantee any specific outcome. For advice specific to your circumstances, consulting a qualified lawyer or paralegal is always advisable.
Our Founder
KnowMyRights.ca and its satellite sites were founded by Monjur Hassan, after navigating Canadian regulatory and complaint processes first-hand revealed how scattered and hard to access legal information is for ordinary people. KnowMyRights was built to solve that problem.
Monjur Hassan is not a lawyer or paralegal. This platform is an information service, similar to Steps to Justice and CLEO, not a legal advice practice. All content is sourced from official Canadian government websites and legislation, and reviewed before publication.
Corporate Information
This platform is operated by 17695977 Canada Corp., a federally incorporated corporation under the Canada Business Corporations Act (CBCA). All KnowMyRights websites are published by this entity.
